BERKELEY – California was represented by a program-record four members on Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars list, the organization has announced.

The Bears matched Arizona State and USC for the most selections among Pac-12 schools. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

Cal’s selections to the WGCA All-American Scholars team were freshman Carly Childs, junior Nicola Rössler, sophomore Morgan Thompson and senior Jacqueline Williams. Rössler and Williams are second-time selections after being named All-American Scholars for the 2011-12 season. It is the first selection for both Childs and Thompson, who become Cal’s 16th and 17th all-time honorees.

The honors cap a strong academic year for the upperclassman trio of Rössler, Thompson and Williams who were also all named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team. Thompson and Williams were first team selections from the conference, and Rössler was a second team selection.
