BERKELEY - Freshman right fielder Brian Celsi went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI as Cal baseball battled Bay Area rival Stanford before falling to the Cardinal, 7-3, Sunday afternoon (May 19) at Evans Diamond.

The Golden Bears (22-31, 10-20) ended up dropping all three games to Stanford (29-21, 14-13) by the scores of 9-8, 9-4 and 7-3. Cal will wrap up the 2013 season hosting Gonzaga, Monday, May 20 at 6 p.m. at Evans Diamond. The final game can be heard on KNEW 960 AM.

In Sunday's contest against Stanford, the Bears' sophomore right-hander Dylan Nelson yielded single runs to the Cardinal in the third and fourth innings before freshman left fielder Max Dutto got Cal on the scoreboard with an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning. Stanford came back with two runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 4-1 lead.

The Bears responded with a run in the bottom of the sixth inning on an RBI single by Celsi to make the score, 4-2, but the Cardinal added two runs in the eighth inning and a run in the ninth inning. Cal notched a run in the eighth inning on another Celsi RBI single.

Besides Celsi's two RBI day, junior catcher Andrew Knapp and sophomore shortstop Chris Paul each had two hits.
