BERKELEY - Three Cal players have been honored on the annual preseason Athlon Sports All-Pac-12 team. Deandre Coleman (Sr., DL) and Vincenzo D'Amato (Sr., PK) earned second-team recognition, while Brendan Bigelow (Jr., RB) was a fourth-team choice.

Deandre Coleman

SECOND TEAM
91 - Deandre Coleman, DL, 6-5, 315, Sr., 3L, Seattle, WA (Garfield HS)
Coleman played in all 12 games in 2012, recording a team-high-tying 8.5 tackles for loss (-32 yards) and 3.0 sacks (-20 yards) to rank third on the club as well as 48 tackles to lead all defensive linemen. He also added a fumble recovery, a pass breakup and two quarterback hurries. Coleman is Cal's active career leader in tackles for loss (17.5), tackle for loss yardage (-62 yards) and sack yardage (-35 yards), while sharing the team among active players in sacks (5.0) and ranking tied for second in tackles (85). He has played in all 37 games possible with 13 starts over the past three seasons.

Vincenzo D'Amato

13 - Vincenzo D'Amato, PK, 6-1, 205, Sr., 3L, Lake Forest, CA (El Toro HS)
D'Amato is Cal's lone returning first-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2013 after leading the conference and ranking tied for 34th nationally in field goals made (1.33 fgmpg). He was also fifth in the league in field goal percentage (16-23, 69.6%) and per-game scoring among kickers, as well as tied for 11th overall (6.5 ppg) in the latter. D'Amato scored a team and career-high 78 points in 2012, adding 30-of-33 extra points to his 16 field goals. D'Amato made 11 consecutive field goals at one point during the campaign. He is Cal's active career leader with 130 points, making 23-of-35 field goals and 61-of-64 extra-point attempts since beginning his collegiate career at Cal in 2009.

Brendan Bigelow

THIRD TEAM
5 - Brendan Bigelow, RB, 5-10, 185, Jr., 2L, Fresno, CA (Central East HS)
Bigelow has 1,844 career all-purpose yards over 23 games played and three starts in his first two seasons at Cal as he has returned 58 kicks for 1,285 yards and a touchdown, while adding 456 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, and eight receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown. His all-purpose and rushing totals are all the most by an active Cal player. Bigelow had a career-high 160 yards rushing and two touchdowns on only four carries at Ohio State as he became only the second Football Bowl Subdivision player in the last decade to post 150 or more yards rushing in a game on five or fewer carries. He was also the first Cal player since Jahvid Best in 2009 with three or more runs of 50-plus yards during a season on a pair of scoring jaunts at Ohio State of 81 and 59 yards, as well as a 57-yard TD rush at Utah. The 81-yard rush was the longest ever by an opponent at Ohio Stadium.

Cal will host seven games at Memorial Stadium in 2013 beginning with a three-game homestand to open the season against non-conference opponents that will include visits from Northwestern (Aug. 31, 7:30 p.m. PT, ESPN2), Portland State (Sept. 7, 2 p.m. PT, Pac-12 Networks) and Ohio State (Sept. 14, 4 p.m. PT, FOX). The Golden Bears will also play home Pac-12 games against Washington State on Homecoming Weekend (Oct. 5), Oregon State (Oct. 19), Arizona (Nov. 2) and USC (Nov. 9) with start times and television coverage to be announced at later dates.
