AFTER CAL: Selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round (No. 37 overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft ... Cal's highest selection in the 2012 NFL Draft ... the first Cal offensive lineman selected in the NFL Draft since Alex Mack was also taken by Cleveland in the first round (No. 21 overall) in 2009 ... on being selected in the NFL Draft - "I was watching ESPN and at the bottom, it said their pick was in and then I got the call. I had a hopeful feeling when I picked up the call and it came into fruition. PERSONAL: Full name is Mitchell Bryan Schwartz ... born June 8, 1989 ... son of Lee Schwartz and Olivia Goodkin ... older brother, Geoff, completed his career as an offensive tackle for Oregon in 2007 and is currently in the NFL with Minnesota after being drafted by Carolina in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft ... Geoff saw his first NFL action with Carolina in 2009, playing in all 16 regular-season games with three starts and then started all 16 games for the Panthers in 2010 before missing the entire 2011 campaign due to injury ... graduated from Cal in December of 2011 with a bachelor's degree in American Studies.
