Jefferson played in 42 games with 38 starts over the last four seasons of his five campaigns with the program and compiled career totals of 229 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss (-105 yards), 8.5 sacks (-62 sack yards), quarterback hurries (5), three interceptions that he returned 22 yards, 10 passes defended, seven pass breakups and one fumble recovery. He had a career-high 64 tackles as a 2013 sophomore, while adding a career-high-tying 6.5 tackles for loss during both his sophomore and 2014 junior campaigns. Jefferson came up with several big plays in terms of both significance and yardage as a junior, helping Cal to win at Northwestern with a sack and an interception on the Wildcats’ final drive and vs. Colorado with an assisted tackle for loss on the Buffaloes’ final play of the second overtime on fourth-and-goal from the Cal one-yardline.
