- Was named the team's Freshman of the Year, going 3-1 with a 1.93 ERA
- Struck out 17 batters in 37.1 innings and had a .235 opponent batting average
- Threw a career-high 6.0 innings with a career-high three strikeouts May 14 vs. Washington State
- Picked up first collegiate win in relief April 5 at USC, striking out two batters in an inning
- Earned a win in his first collegiate start, throwing 5.1 innings with no runs April 17 vs. Santa Clara


HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:

- At Oakridge High School was all-league, All-Capital and first-team all-city as a senior in 2011
- Had a 7-0 record as a senior with a 1.89 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 59.1 innings
- Also recorded a no-hitter and had four complete games in 2011
- Help his school go undefeated in league play (18-0) in 2010
- Had two sisters (Julie and Katie), and two brothers (Michael and John) graduate from Cal
- Majoring in molecular biology
