BERKELEY - The No. 15 California and No. 13 Missouri women's soccer teams treated a national television audience to a high-scoring game with the Tigers emerging victoriously 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at Edwards Stadium. In their first-ever Pac-12 Networks broadcast, Golden Bears struck first with a goal in the ninth minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime but a late surge but the Tigers proved too much to handle.

After the Bears led 1-0 for over 40 minutes, the Tigers knotted things up with a goal in the 51st and then went ahead 2-1 when they scored in the 59th. Playing one-goal down for 15 minutes, Betsy Hassett equalized in the 74th but a Mizzou goal two minutes later cost Cal dearly. The Bears looked to capitalize on chances brought about by two Tiger yellow cards in the final six minutes, but they could not find the back of the net.

Emily Kruger played the full 90 minutes between the posts, making six saves, four of which came in the first half. McKenzie Sauerwein made two first-half stops and then four in the second half to thwart Cal's attack.

At the halftime break with the Bears owning a 1-0 lead, the teams were dead even in shots with eight apiece. It was the same story in the second half with both teams taking 11 shots.

8:15 - Cal 1, Missouri 0:

Ifeoma Onumonu one-touched the ball before finding the back of the net with Celeste Boureille assisting.

50:35 - Cal 1, Missouri 1:

Taiwo Adeshigbin tucked it into the back right corner.

58:14 - Missouri 2, Cal 1:

Haley Krentz received a long cross from Danielle Nottingham on the near side of the box and shot it in.

73:30: Cal 2, Missouri 2:

After Kaitlyn Fitzpatrick looked to shoot, she dished it off to Hassett, who shot it to the back right.

75:14 - Missouri 3, Cal 2:

With Abi Raymer taking the cross from the near side, Haley Krentz handily finished it off for the gamewinner.

Next Week on the Pitch:

Cal takes its second road trip of the year, heading down the coast to San Luis Obispo. On Friday, Aug. 31, the Bears play Cal Poly at 6 p.m. It's a quick trip for Cal returns to the friendly confines of Edwards Stadium for a noon match-up on Sept. 2 against San Francisco. That match will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.
