BERKELEY - Eleventh-ranked California routed visiting Oregon, 7-0, to improve its record to 12-5 (6-1 in the Pac-12) on Friday afternoon at the Hellman Tennis Complex. The Ducks fell to 12-7 (1-6 Pac-12).

The Golden Bears won all three doubles matches to take the doubles point and just lost one set on the way to winning all six singles matches. Sixth-ranked Anett Schutting beat No. 102 Nicole Long, 6-1, 6-2, on court one to secure Cal's team victory.

"Coming off the high of last weekend, it would be really easy to take the opponent lightly," Cal head coach Amanda Augustus said of the win over the unranked Ducks. Cal's previous match was an upset of then-No. 4 UCLA, 4-3, on March 30 in Los Angeles. "But I think the girls did a really good job of carrying over, and they focused really well today. I was pretty pleased with what they did today."

The Golden Bears won all three doubles matches to take the doubles point and just lost one set on the way to winning all six singles matches. Sixth-ranked Anett Schutting beat No. 102 Nicole Long, 6-1, 6-2, on court one to secure Cal's team victory.

The 23rd-ranked Cal pair of freshman Klara Fabikova and sophomore Zsofi Susanyi easily dispatched Julia Meztger and Pascale Neubert, 8-3, on court two to open doubles play, and then the team of Cal junior Kelly Chui and senior Tayler Davis knocked off Sofia Hager and Brooke Hughes, 8-3, on court three to win the doubles point for the Bears. In a tight match on court one, the 25th-ranked team of Schutting and freshman Lynn Chi beat Long and Patricia Skowronski, 7-6(2).

This was just the second time that Cal paired Chui and Davis, with the first time taking place in that win over the Bruins. The two Bears won their court-three doubles match, 8-5, to give Cal the doubles point against UCLA.

"It's a lot of fun playing with her," Davis said of Chui. "It's a little bit crazy how well we've been able to play."

In singles, Cal clinched the team match with three quick wins: Senior Annie Goransson started the Bears off with a 6-0, 6-1, rout of Rabea Stueckmann on court five, Fabikova - ranked 80th - followed with a 6-2, 6-1, win over Skowronski on court two and Schutting, ranked sixth, beat No. 108 Long, 6-1, 6-2, on court one to make the score 4-0.

Chi, ranked 59th, was up next with a 6-1, 6-2, victory over Metzger on court three, and Davis then posted a 6-4, 6-4, result over Lana Buttner on court four. On court six, Chui dropped the first set to Hughes, 5-7, but rebounded to win 6-0 in the second and then take the super tiebreak, 1-0 (10-8).

Today marked just the second time in singles that Fabikova's played on court two instead of on court three, as she swapped courts with Chi, who has played the most matches (10) for the Bears on court two.

"We were giving her an opportunity to play on a higher court and testing her a little bit, and she responded really well to the challenge," Augustus said of Fabikova. "Obviously Lynn is doing great, too. It's a nice problem to have when you can put people in different positions and they can be successful."

Cal next travels to the Grand Canyon state to play Arizona State on April 12 and then take on Arizona on April 13.
