BERKELEY - No. 11 California outlasted Eastern Washington, 91-58, Friday afternoon in the first game of the Cal Classic by Doubletree to improve to 4-0 for the first time since the 2009-10 Sweet 16 team began the year with a seven-game winning streak.

The Bears were led by 15 points each from post players Gennifer Brandon and Talia Caldwell along with sophomore guard Brittany Boyd's near triple-double of 13 points, 10 assists and eight steals. The 10 assists were a career high for the Berkeley native as she becomes the first Golden Bear to hit the double-digit assists mark since Alexis Gray-Lawson dished 10 against Princeton on Dec. 6, 2008.

Afure Jemerigbe added 11 points, and Reshanda Gray added 10 for the Bears. In yet another display of balanced scoring, three more players - Layshia Clarendon, Mikayla Lyles and Justine Hartman - each contributed eight points to the effort.

Leading 43-37 at the half, the Bears suffocated the Eagles (1-3) in the second half, outscoring Eastern Washington by a 48-21 margin in the final 20 minutes to run away with the game and advance to the Cal Classic championship game for the 30th consecutive season.

The Bears will face Georgetown (4-1) in the championship game Saturday at 3:15 p.m. at Haas Pavilion. The Hoyas, currently receiving votes in both the AP and USA Today Coaches' polls, won a 53-51 thriller against Cal State Fullerton in the second game of the Cal Classic by Doubletree Friday afternoon.

Cal State Fullerton will face Eastern Washington at 1 p.m. in the consolation final.
