Spring 2015: Continued her breakout season in the spring and ended her second year with All-America honors in singles and doubles…also earned a berth on the All-Pac-12 first team…twice named the Pac-12 Player of the Week…the fourth seed in NCAA singles, the fourth-ranked Manasse fell in the round of 16 to Florida’s 13th-ranked and Nos. 9-16-seeded Josie Kuhlman, 6-4, 6-1…paired with Denise Starr as one of the Nos. 5-8 seeds in NCAA doubles and reached the round of 16, losing to Stanford’s 10th-ranked Caroline Doyle/Ellen Tsay, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4…the duo beat Notre Dame’s 29th-ranked Quinn Gleason and Monica Robinson in the round of 32, 6-2, 6-1…ranked seventh in doubles with Starr in the penultimate ITA ranking of the 2014-15 season…in the Pac-12 doubles tournament, Manasse and Starr won twice to reach the semifinals but had to withdraw due to injury…one of the Bears’ big wins during the regular season came in Cal’s 4-3 victory at UCLA on March 20, when Starr and Manasse – then ranked fifth – upset the third-ranked pair of Catherine Harrison/Kyle McPhillips, 8-4, to clinch the doubles point…Manasse finished with a 38-9 singles record – including 12-5 at court-one singles and 26-4 in tournaments – and a 32-10 doubles record in 2014-15, including a 32-10 record with Starr…Manasse has career records of 71-16 (singles) and 56-17 (doubles).
Fall 2014: The second-year Bear had a breakout fall, reaching the singles final of the most prestigious tournament of the fall and forging deep into all of the other tournaments she competed in…Manasse won the top-flight singles crown at the Cal Fall Nike Invitational, beating teammate and doubles partner Denise Starr, 6-4, 6-4, reached the quarterfinal rounds of the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships as well as in the Riviera/ITA All-American, and advanced to the final of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships…in doubles, Manasse and Starr earned a No. 11 ITA ranking in the fall…the pair won the top-flight title in the Cal Fall Nike Invitational, beating teammates Zsofi Susanyi and Lynn Chi, 8-4, in the final, fell in the final of the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships to Susanyi and Klara Fabikova, 6-1, 6-4, reached the round of 16 in the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, and won the consolation crown at indoors, beating Michigan’s second-seeded Emina Bektas/Alexandria Najarian.
Spring 2014: Posted a 33-7 singles record and a final ITA ranking of No. 61 after a strong first year as a Golden Bear…led the Bears with seven match-clinching victories…clinched Cal’s last team victory of the season, beating Pepperdine’s Apichaya Runglerdkriangkrai, 7-5, 6-2, playing on court six in the NCAA’s round of 32 in Berkeley…Manasse clinched Cal’s regular-season win at Stanford that clinched the Bears’ first Pac-12 championship, beating No. 39 Caroline Doyle, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2…won 10 of her last 12 singles matches… partnered with Denise Starr to win Cal’s last doubles match of the season, an 8-3 victory over No. 50 Taylor Davidson/Ellen Tsay in the Bears’ NCAA round of 16 loss to Stanford in Atlanta…overall Manasse compiled a 24-7 doubles record, including a 12-1 record with Starr…Manasse and Starr earned a final ITA doubles ranking of 33rd, while Manasse and Anett Schutting (10-5) claimed a final ITA doubles ranking of 55th.
Fall 2013: Came on strong late in the fall in singles, first reaching the round of 16 in the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships and then advancing to the final of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational, falling to teammate Denise Starr, 6-1, 6-2…her run to the final in Tempe, Ariz., including an upset of 23rd-ranked teammate Klara Fabikova in the semifinals, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4…she compiled a singles record of 7-2 in her first semester as a Golden Bear…posted a 5-1 doubles record that – with Fabikova as her partner – included a run to the regional’s quarterfinals.
The Tennis Recruiting Network regarded Maegan Manasse as a five-star recruit, ranking her at No. 13 in its national college recruiting list and as the second-best recruit from the state of California.
In July of 2013, Manasse won the Manhattan Beach Open, bageling her opponent, former UCLA Bruin Helen Tu, 6-0, 6-0, in the final. In November of 2012, Manasse won the doubles title at the USTA National Open, Girls 18, in Irvine, Calif., where she also reached the round of 16 in singles. One of her best sports moments was when she paired with North Carolina's Ashley Dai to win the doubles crown at the 2012 USTA National Clay Court Championships in Memphis, Tenn.
In 2011, Manasse won the CIF Southern Section Singles Championship, overcoming Arizona State's Desirae Krawczyk in the final. The win over Krawczyk gave Manasse a 32-0 singles record for Mira Costa High School, which also named her its Female Athlete of the Year in 2011. Manasse amassed a 68-1 singles record in 2010.
